Popular world of warcraft twitch streamer Asmongold has recently shared some thoughts after the devs of WoW announced changes coming to World of Warcraft in patch 9.1.5.
On August 27, the Warcraft team released a rare public announcement about the upcoming patch 9.1.5 on Twitter. They promised changes coming to covenants, conduits, and more quality of life updates. Devs also mentioned they would be trying to improve the game environment by finally tackling toxicity; a major complaint from players.
During a recent stream, Twitch streamer Asmongold, who is known for playing World of Warcraft, has shared some of his thoughts regarding the WoW 9.1.5 patch. Asmongold did concede that this latest retail WoW update might be good itself. But, he didn’t consider it a win for the community because Blizzard isn’t actually taking player feedback into account when making the systems that need fixing in the first place.
Here’s what he said; “They’re doing everything that people want, basically, and I do not think this is a win. I’ll be completely honest, I do not think this is a win. You know why? It’s because they did the same thing in BfA, and they did the same thing in Legion. I will consider this a dub when we get a PTR, and a system goes on the PTR that’s bad, and players give feedback the system’s bad. that’s what the real problem is, it’s never been that Blizzard didn’t listen to feedback eventually, it’s the time it takes them to listen to that feedback.”
As Asmongold points out, Players have been playing the game for close to a year by the time these changes are coming out. He is all for the update itself, but isn’t convinced this patch shows any actual change from Blizzard. Patch 9.1.5 goes live on October 5th in the main game, but like Blizzard said in their tweet, it’ll be going live on PTR servers the week of August 29th through September 4th.
However, it is also possible that the reason Asmongold dislikes the new raid and would rather play Elden Ring isn’t any fault of World of Warcraft’s. Instead, it may be the issue of a longtime player’s frustration over a game that they’ve been playing for 15+ years at this point being offered a fresh, fun experience.06-Mar-2022
Asmongold is a big fan of WoW Classic, but he refuses to stream raids on Twitch, and he explained why, claiming the community is “not really fun” to make content for due to its ‘hostility’. Asmon thinks WoW Classic is a big reason why the game is still thriving after all these years.19-Jan-2022
