1 – Acknowledgement
Please read and understand completely the following terms and conditions before registering for the Throwdown Rocket League Community Night (TRLCN) brought to you by Throwdown Esports (Throwdown). All Players, as defined below, must comply to these Official Rules before entering and participating in the Tournament. By entering the Tournament you agree to be bound by these Official Rules, and represent that you satisfy all eligibility requirements contained here within.
Each person who participates in the Tournament is referred to as a “Player”. If the Player is under the age of majority in his or her state or country of residence (a “Minor”), such Minor Player represents and warrants that he or she has received permission from his or her parent or legal guardian to register for and participate in the Tournament. Rules will be administered by the Tournament Organisers by their sole discretion.
These Official Rules are subject to change, as determined by the Tournament Organizers in their sole discretion.
2 – Tournament Format
The Tournament is a Best-of-3 “Swiss Bracket” style tournament allowing teams to play 7 matches. Each team will be paired with another team on a similar record. This means that a team that has won 2 matches and lost 2 matches, will verse another team of similar wins and losses. Teams that have previously played each other in the tournament will not verse each other a second time, regardless of their records. At the end of the tournament, the team with the most match wins is the winner.
If two teams are tied at the end of the tournament, a tie-breaker will be determined by head to head results. If no head to head result is available, an extra match will be played out between those two teams.
If three or more teams are tied at the end of the tournament, the following tiebreaker rules apply as per the smash website:
- Head to head results amongst all tied teams.
- Game win percentage.
- Series win percentage.
- Swiss score as determined by: Series win – 1 point; game win – 1 point; bye – 2 points;
- If the above results separate 1 or more team, repeat from the top.
- If no tie can be resolved, a further single elimination bracket may be played with seeding decided by the Tournament Organisers.
3 – Eligibility
The Tournament is free and open to all legal residents of the Oceanic region, which includes Australia, Fiji, Indonesia, New Zealand, New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Wallis and Futuna, Norfolk Island, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Micronesia, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, Samoa, Tonga, and Tuvalu.
