Did you see that?
New Zealand’s lead batsman, Will Young, made one of the biggest catches of all time when he hung from a flying ball on the border on day four of the second Test against South Africa in Christchurch.
Young, the 29-year-old from New Plymouth, used all his 1.88m frame and long limbs to get to a well-hit ball from Marco Jansen, the Proteas all-rounder, and make quite a sensational catch.
When Jansen hit the ball on day four at Hagley Oval, at Colin De Grandhomme’s bowling, the commentator can be heard saying: “That’s a shot. Did that work out at all?”
The next moment, Young reaches out and takes the catch, much to the delight of the commentators and the audience.
South Africa, thanks to a first century of the Test by Kyle Verreynne and some good lower-order batting and bowling by Kagiso Rabada, are entering the final day of the Test on Tuesday and need six wickets to win the game and finish the series to improve.
