While there are legitimate criticisms that the process took a long time, the reality is that there were consequences. And where else in today’s government can you say that?
The list of people accused of wrongdoing who still have their jobs or sit at home with a big paycheck is endless. There is a lack of accountability in South Africa’s governance.

As DA Prime Minister of the Western Cape, Winde has shown what effective and responsible political leadership can be. The county’s work during the Covid pandemic has been exemplary and it has the highest number of clean audits in the country.
While there are issues – such as the brutal treatment of the homeless in DA-run Cape Town – generally, Winde runs the best-run province.
The rest of our politicians and officials should take note.
